Amorphis is a Finnish progressive metal band founded by Jan Rechberger, Tomi Koivusaari, and Esa Holopainen in 1990.[1] Initially, the band was a death metal act, but on later albums they evolved into playing other genres, including progressive metal, folk metal, and melodic death metal. They frequently use the Kalevala, the epic poem of Finland, as a source for their lyrics.

Chrome Division is a Norwegian rock band formed in 2004. The current lineup consists of founding member Shagrath (also of Dimmu Borgir) on rhythm guitar, along with Eddie Guz as the vocalist, Mr Damage on lead guitar and Tony White on drums. The band has released five albums through Nuclear Blast: Doomsday Rock 'n Roll in 2006, Booze, Broads and Beelzebub in 2008, 3rd Round Knockout in 2011, Infernal Rock Eternal in 2014, and One Last Ride in 2018.[1] The band announced that their fifth album would be their last.

Discharge are an English hardcore punk band formed in 1977 in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.[1] The band is known for influencing several sub-genres of extreme music and their songs have been covered by many notable artists in heavy metal and other genres. The musical sub-genre of D-beat is named after Discharge and the band's distinctive drumbeat.

Dødheimsgard (also known as DHG) is a Norwegian extreme metal band formed in 1994. Dødheimsgard originally played black metal, but 1999's 666 International saw them change their style into experimental and avant-garde/industrial metal. In 2000, they shortened their name to DHG.

Emperor is a Norwegian black metal band formed in 1991 by guitarist and vocalist Ihsahn and guitarist Samoth. The group split up in 2001, but reunited from 2005 to 2007 for a few festival dates and brief US tours, and again reunited from 2013 to 2014. Emperor reformed for the third time in 2016. Emperor is considered to be highly influential on the black metal genre by both music journalists and members of the extreme metal community.

GWLT was established in 2013 by lead vocalist David Mayonga and guitarist Chris Zehetleitner in Munich. Later, a second guitarist, Florian Gudzent, as well as bassist Michael Kokus and drummer Fabian Füss completed the quintet. Zehetleitner, Füss and Gudzent had experience in bands as they previously and respectively played for the punk bands Emil Bulls, The Blackout Argument, and The New Recruits.

Holy Grail was formed in 2008 as Sorcerer by singer James Paul Luna, lead guitarist James J. LaRue and drummer Tyler Meahl, all ex-members of White Wizzard.[1] They recruited rhythm guitarist Eli Santana and bassist Eric Harris (formerly of Skeletonwitch) to complete the lineup. Before Holy Grail recorded their first extended play, bassist Blake Mount replaced Harris.

The 69 Eyes is a Finnish rock band. It was founded in 1989 in Helsinki by vocalist Jyrki 69 (who also writes the band's lyrics), guitarists Bazie, Timo-Timo and bassist Archzie, joined in 1992 by drummer Jussi 69; the lineup never changed since then. The 69 Eyes music blends gothic rock with glam metal and rock 'n roll in a style that has been dubbed "goth 'n roll"
